Mr. E. Alton Reeves, age 92, of Franklin, formerly of East Point and Sharpsburg, died at Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, GA, on Jan. 3, 2013.
He was born in Griffin, GA, on June 22, 1920, to the late Edward Alton Reeves Sr. and Kathryn Green Reeves.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and was a POW in the final days of war. He owned and operated McCoy and Reeves Real Estate Company. His happiest hours were spent in Kiwanis work. In addition to all the community service hours, he enjoyed going to Kiwanis conventions and workshops where he brought joy to everyone he met. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Evelyne Kirk Reeves, and son, Rick Reeves.
Surviving are his daughter, Robin Lewis (Reed) of Franklin; daughter-in-law, Debbie Reeves of Atlanta; sister, Kathleen Schaudies of East Point; grandchildren, Katey Lewis, Adam Lewis (Courtney), and Whitney Reeves; 3 great grandchildren.

Terry Killingsworth officiating. Remains will be placed in state at the church at 1:30 p.m. Interment service with military honors will be held at noon on Monday, Jan. 7 at Westview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Saturday, 4-6 p.m.
