Mary was born to Willie B. Foster (deceased) and Arrie Lee Foster Green Davis. She was the granddaughter of the late Mr. John and Rosa Ann Lay and the late Deacon John Will and Beatrice Foster, and the daughter-in-law of the late Mr. Wilbur and Louis Johnson.
Legacy of Love - Mary married the love of her life, Charlie Wilbur Johnson. They had many years of love and romance that led to a devoted marriage of commitment for 31 years. She affectionately called him “Johnson” and he called her “E,” which connected them to a personal love. Mary and Charlie cherished every moment together and valued their home just as it was meant to be “Their Home” full of God’s blessing, love, honor, respect, support, and caring. These many memories will continue in Charlie’s heart.
Legacy as a Mother - Mary had an extraordinary love that made her a “one of a kind” mother. Mary and Charlie were childless and their passion and love extended to her beautiful niece LaTonya Foster. Mary fell in love with LaTonya at birth and began to allow God to use her in caring and providing for LaTonya. Being childless, God’s grace and mercy blessed Mary and Charlie to legally be the parents of their daughter LaTonya Foster (age 34).
After many years of hearing the medical doctors’ report that Mary would never birth a child, whose report will you believe? God reported and blessed Mary and Charlie with a beautiful daughter, Arrieian Johnson (age 28). These beautiful daughters were the love and life of Mary. She taught them about God’s love and that all blessing come from Him. Until Mary’s last breath of life she was very proud to say, “We have two beautiful daughters.” They are LaTonya and Arrieian. God’s report continued and blessed Mary and Charlie with two beautiful granddaughters, Jordyn (age 7) and Skylar (age 2). Mary’s blessed seed and motherly love will never be forgotten, but continue to live through her daughters and granddaughters.
Legacy as a Godly Woman – Mary was a believer and received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She was a member of The Elect of God Pure Holiness Church under the leadership of her brother, Pastor Willie L Foster. Later in life she joined World Changers Church International, Pastors Creflo and Taffie Dollar. She was a member for over 18 years as she joined prior to the building of the dome and became part of the vision of building the Kingdom of God. As a servant Mary helped many and was no respecter of persons. She listened to God and fulfilled her role as a servant with open arms “such has I have I give unto thee.” Mary was a blessed faith worker for the Lord.
Legacy as Entrepreneur – Mary had a passion as a baker, florist and cake designer. She served others in personally catering, making flowers, and designing cakes for many weddings and all other occasions in the surrounding area. Mary’s passion for cooking cakes led her to own and operate “Designs by Mary,” a bakery of special and personally-designed cakes. Mary’s motto was “I can design and bake whatever kind of cake you want - I am here to serve you on your special occasion.” Mary had the favor of God in her business for more than 25years until her health issues.
Legacy of Career/Experience – Mary was educated in the Coweta County school system and attained professional certifications in business accounting, floral, and cake designing from West Georgia Technical College. She participated in and attended many seminars for professional business women. Before her health issues Mary was employed by the Newnan Times-Herald for over 20 years as well as Venture Financial Tax Services, where she was known as “MJ.” Other places of employment were Wishbone, Hi-Brand, Pike Transfer Company, Sheraton Peachtree Hotel, and Voxcom.
Legacy of Memories – Mary will be missed and loving memories will live in the hearts and minds of those who loved her as mother, grandmother, family member, friend and confidant, and through her missionary service.
