Mrs. Mary Ellis, age 74, of Sharpsburg, GA, passed away Nov. 7, 2012. Mrs. Ellis grew up in Lansing, MI, where she met and married her husband of 47 years, Clarence (Bud) Ellis. A loving wife and mother of three, Mrs. Ellis went on to become a real estate agent after moving to Georgia in 1986. Loved by all who knew her, she was once active in New Neighbors and the Red Hat Society and was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Post 50. She loved her gardening and book clubs and was especially fond of playing bridge and bunko.
Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Haynes; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Haynes. She is survived by her husband, Clarence (Bud) Ellis; daughters, Michele (Stan) Hall and Julie (Mike) Calhoun; and son, Barry (Kelli) Ellis. She is also survived by brothers, Kenneth (Gaye) Hoxie and Vernon Haynes; as well as sisters, Charlene Haynes and Tillie Margaret Frohock. She celebrated 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m., with lunch to follow service, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 101 Walt Banks Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269. Her cremains will be interred at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
