Ms. Melanie Yvonne Pate Caldwell
Ms. Melanie Yvonne Pate Caldwell of Newnan, GA, died Sept. 4, 2012. She was born in Carroll County, Whitesburg, GA, on Nov. 12, 1942. On Nov. 12, Melanie would have celebrated her 70th birthday. She is the daughter of the late Wilson Lamar (Red) Pate and Helen Geneva Carnes Pate. Ms. Caldwell was a member of the Sargent, GA, Baptist Church.
Melanie was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Bob Caldwell; and a sister, Phyllis Jane Pate Huff. Melanie lived at 15 Meadowview LN, Newnan, GA.
Sibling survivors include a brother, Ronnie Pate of Whitesburg, GA; and two sisters, Myra Pate Kelly of Fraser, MI, and Beverly Pate Byous of Carrollton, GA. Melanie did not have any children; however, she helped her late husband raise his son, Dayna Caldwell. Also, she enjoyed and loved many surviving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12 at Antioch Baptist Church, located on East Hwy 5. Arrangements by West Georgia Crematory.
