Mrs. Rose Elizabeth (Becky) Valentine
Mrs. Rose Elizabeth (Becky) Valentine of Luthersville passed away Nov. 5, 2012.
Mrs. Valentine was a pitcher for the Professional Women’s Fast Pitch softball team, The Lorelei Ladies, during World War II. She worked as a supervisor for the payroll department of the Federal Aviation Administration.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Valentine Jr., and is survived by daughters, Virginia (Ginger) Hancock of Luthersville, Sheila Williams and husband, Terry, of Spartanburg, SC; son, Mark Valentine and wife, Becky, of Decatur; grandchildren, Amy Thompson, Daniel Thompson, Brian Williams, Jeff Williams and Katie Williams.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. at Luthersville United Methodist Church with remains placed in state at 10 a.m. Rev. Richard Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Luthersville UMC Cemetery.
