Mr. James Edward Samples
Mr. James Edward Samples, 89, of Franklin, GA, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012.
Mr. Samples was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Coweta County, son of the late Ernest Willie (Red) Samples and Bernice Stella Smallwood Samples. A resident of the Newnan and Hogansville area most of his life, he retired from Ryder Truck Lines as a truck driver. He enjoyed buying and selling, and was a savvy trader.
Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Rickey and Peggy Samples of Hogansville; daughters and sons in-law, Elaine and Ray Fritts, Arlene and Numey (Sandy) Saunders, all of Hogansville, Vickie and Craig Dean of Orange Beach, AL; sister and brother in-law, Leroy and Gerrie Samples of McDonough; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Dean Samples.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Rev. Terry Calhoun and Rev. Alan Waldrop will officiate and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
