Mr. Alfred Murray McAfee Jr.
Mr. Alfred Murray McAfee Jr. of Senoia, GA, born Dec. 8, 1946, died July 15, 2012, of Agent Orange cancer from his service in the Vietnam War.
Son of Alfred Murray and Elinor Keown McAfee of Atlanta, GA, he is survived by his sister, Gayle M. Hughes of Stone Mountain; uncle and aunt, Wendell & Ruby Keown, of Conyers, GA; aunt, Mildred Keown of Chico, Calif.; nieces, Laura H. and husband Rev. Allan Rudie of Danville, IL, Amanda H. and husband Larry Price of St. Mountain, GA; nephew, David Hughes and wife Gaye Brewster Hughes of Tullahoma, TN; great nieces and nephews, many cousins and dear friends.
He was a Christian & member of East Armuchee Baptist Church, Villinow, GA. He is a graduate of Georgia State University; served as city manager of Senoia, GA; president of Senoia Area Historical Society & proud member of The Sons of the American Revolution. During the Vietnam War he served with pride aboard the U.S. Navy ship USS Estes.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19 from 5-7 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA, and on Friday, July 20 from 11 a.m. until the service time at noon at East Armuchee Baptist Church, 3196 East Armuchee Rd., LaFayette, GA. Officiating will be Rev. Allan Rudie, Rev. David Pruit, and Larry Price.
