Mr. Gordy Williams
Mr. Henry Gordon “Gordy” Williams, age 71, of Bremen, GA, passed away June 25, 2012. Mr. Williams was born on April 11, 1941, to the late Bill and Doris Benefield Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane E. Williams; and brother, Danny Williams.
Mr. Williams owned and operated Gordy Williams Siding Company in Bremen. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Mr. Williams is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Charmaine and Dennis Payne of Bremen; sons and daughters-in-law, Benjamin and Lynn Williams and Grayson and Sheila Williams of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Destiny Williams, Stacey Oliver, Becca Williams, Miranda Williams, Brandon Parker, Megan Williams, Jared Williams, Savannah Payne, and Dawson Williams; great-grandson, Brady Oliver; sister and brother-in-law, Naomi and Craig Jackson of Jackson, GA; brother and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Judy Williams of Stockbridge, GA and Claudine Williams of Cedar Bluff, AL.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, at 11 a.m. from Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Mason Bush officiating. Mr. Williams will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Pallbearers serving will be Brandon Parker, Jared Williams, Dawson Williams, Michael Veesley, Wade Williams, and Richard Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Jackson, Garland Robinson, Alan Kiker, Boyce King, Corey Benefield, Raymond Walls and Henry Ledbetter.
Interment will follow in Providence Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 28 between the hours of 6 and 8:30 p.m.
