Mrs. Artie Holsombeck Duncan
Mrs. Artie Holsombeck Duncan slipped gently from this world into the care of her Heavenly Father on April 24, 2012.
For most of her 92 years, she led a life of joyful independence until her recent illness. She was born in Heard County, Georgia, on Oct. 23, 1919, and was the daughter of George William and Mary Bryan Holsombeck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Joe Duncan. She was a member of Stewart Road Baptist Church in Monticello, Georgia.
Surviving her is her step-son, Charles Mahlon Duncan and his wife Brenda; her grandchildren, Craig Duncan, Lee Duncan, and Leslie Storey and her husband Scott. There are five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving her is an extended family of nieces and nephews, including Ken Holsombeck and his wife Joanne; Brenda Baker and her husband Mike.
Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA, where the funeral service will be on Thursday, April 26 at 3 p.m. with Reverend Rick Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
