Mr. John Glenn Kirk
Mr. John Glenn Kirk, age 83 of Newnan, died at his residence on April 20, 2012.
He was born in Washington, NC, on November 19, 1928, to the late John Riley Kirk and Mertie Jarvis Kirk.
He served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart and later was in the insurance business.
Mr. Kirk was a member of Crossroads Church and enjoyed the potluck suppers, especially the dessert table. His favorite pasttimes were painting and golfing.
Surviving are his wife, Esther Laurenzo Kirk; daughters, Kathleen Wainwright (Henry), and Gloria Cann (Brian), all of Newnan; grandchildren, Victoria Gebhart and Lee Carlisle, Elizabeth Roshaven (Scott), Alexandra Ludovici (Vincent), William Kirk Wainwright, Carrie Cann, and Kathleen Cann; 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012, at Crossroads Church with Pastor Ken Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Remains will be placed in state at the church at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Sunday, 6-8 p.m.
