Mrs. Ruth Evelyn Shaw
Mrs. Ruth Evelyn Shaw, age 84, of Newnan, GA, died at Piedmont Newnan Hospital on April 16, 2012.
She as born in Phenix City, AL, on Feb. 13, 1928, to the late Clarence Thomas Pitman and Willie Horton Pitman. She attended Friendship Baptist Church and she loved her cats and took great pride in her gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Pierce G. Shaw Sr.; 4 sons, Glenn, Tim, Pierce (Red) Shaw and Charles Wilson; daughter, Beverly Elliott.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda McDonald, and Linda’s husband, Dale “Mac,” of Newnan; sister, Betty Schloemer of Newnan; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Wade Arrington, Rev. Harry Parkerson, and Rev. Danny Key officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Scott Addison, Harvey Arrington, Dale McDonald, Thomas Eliott, Tommy Wilson, and Charles Wilson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 11 a.m.until service time.
