Mr. William Walter (Bill) Thompson
Mr. William Walter (Bill) Thompson, age 57, of Grantville, Ga., passed away March 23, 2012.
He was born in Coweta County Jan. 30, 1955, and lived most of his life at Tyrone, Ga. He was son of the late Walter Dewey and Aley Ann McEachern Thompson. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Darriell Thompson, who died in 1967 in the Vietnam Asian conflict, and Charles Thompson.
He is survived by two sisters and one brother, including Elaine and Jerome Meigs of Grantville, Ga., Sandra and Paul Hallford of Senoia, Ga., and David and Rene Thompson of Douglasville, Ga.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Bill was a 1973 graduate of Fayette County High School and he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1975, serving through 1979. Bill was a disabled veteran.
Bill's wishes were to be cremated and graveside services will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Park, 359 W. Broad St., Fairburn, GA 30213, on Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m. Anyone wishing to send flowers may send them to Holly Hill's office, 770-964-6014. Family and friends are cordially invited.
