Mrs. Mary Lela Knowles
Mrs. Mary Lela Knowles, age 72, of Moreland, Ga., died at Hospice LaGrange on Jan. 14, 2013.
She was born on Aug. 1, 1940, in Mobile, Alabama, to the late Manuel Cross and Katie Gibson Cross. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Knowles, and grandchild, Kimberly White. She took great pride in being a hairdresser for many years.
Surviving are her daughter, Deborah White of Moreland; special friend, Jim Van Davan; sister, Dolly Langley; grandchildren, LeAnn Newingham and Jason Chambless; great-grandchildren, Kristal, Kelby, Brianna, and Matthew.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17 at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Brian Hosmer officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Wednesday, 6-8 p.m.
