Mr. Thomas Edward Camp

Mr. Thomas Edward Camp, age 88, of Moreland, Georgia, died April 27, 2012, at his residence.

A native of Rome, Georgia, he was born Nov. 3, 1923, and was the son of the late Edward Madison Camp and Maybell Foster Camp.

After high school, he enlisted in the Navy. Upon completion of Naval Cadet Training, he was certified to fly. Following World War II, he continued in the reserves and retired as a Commander. He flew for Eastern Airlines during his entire career of 30 years in aviation. He was a member of Newnan First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Camp was predeceased by a daughter, Corlis Giles. Mr. Camp is survived by his wife, Mary Barton Camp. His children are Thomas Edward Camp Jr., Kathy Felder and Christopher Camp. There are nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson St., Newnan. Visitation was on Sunday evening. An additional hour of visitation will be on Monday at 1 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, April 30, at 2 p.m. in the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Jimmy Patterson and Reverend Jerry Walker officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
