Mr. Donald Shelnutt, 74, of Newnan, GA, died Aug. 16, 2012.

He was born on Jan. 15, 1938, in Heard County. He was a member of Westside Baptist church in Newnan. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Shelnutt of Newnan; sons, Dennis Lee (Marsha) Shelnutt, of Lithia Springs, David Scott (Norma) Shelnutt, of Newnan; sister, Glynda (Billy) Favors, of Palmetto; 6 granddaughters, Jessica, Kristal, Denise, Candice, Andrea and Amanda.

He was preceded in death by his son, William D. Shelnut Jr.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Payne and Rev. Alton Midgett officiating. Interment will follow at Lee’s Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Carrollton.
