Mr. Charles Raymond Mapp

Mr. Charles Raymond Mapp, age 66, of Newnan, GA, received the healing of his Heavenly Father on July 31, 2012, while a patient at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

He truly had fought the good fight and kept the course after receiving a kidney transplant years ago. He faced this last illness with steely determination during his six-week hospitalization. Charles was a native of Newnan and was born March 31, 1946. His parents were the late Alvin Ace Mapp and Annie Ruth Lewis Mapp. Prior to his illness, he was employed at The William L Bonnell Company in the drafting department as a Lead CAD/CAM operator. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Newnan.

Surviving is his wife, Debbie Meade Mapp. He has one surviving sibling, William H. “Boots” Mapp, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family was at the funeral home on Thursday evening. The funeral service for Mr. Mapp will be on Friday, Aug. 3 at 2 p.m. in the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Doug Bearden, Dr. Melvin Payne and Reverend Jerry Walker officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
