The primary election in our community has come and gone. Voters have made their decisions. Winners have been chosen. There are no runoffs in local races. Sure, the General Election will be held in November, but there are only a small number of local races with Democratic and Republican candidates facing off on Nov. 6.
What’s our point? It’s time for all the candidates who squared off in the Tuesday primary and who have no opposition in November to remove their campaign signs. We have seen them long enough.
As of Thursday morning political signs were still plentiful around the county. Near the Coweta County Fire Station on Fischer Road north of Northgate High School, signs were commonplace. It’s kind of an obnoxious sight with the election past us.
We commend all the candidates -- both winners and losers -- who offered their time and campaigned hard to win a political office and contribute in the public service arena.
Now that the election is history we urge the candidates to take down their political signs. Thank you.
