This is in response to an opinion piece titled “Don’t repeal it, fix it.” The write starts off by blaming Republicans. He claims all the times the Republicans were in power they never once offered a national health care program.
I say the Republicans have offered numerous health care programs, from medical saving accounts to co-ops, and tried to pass legislation to rein in the frivolous medical malpractice lawsuits that cost billions.
Also, they have tried to get rid of foolish regulations that stifle competition among insurance companies, every time to be blocked by the Democrats. Who thinks the government knows what is best for you?
Obamacare will cost trillions. Have you ever seen the government run anything efficiently? Already, insurance premiums for the military along with the civilian population are going up. I know that first-hand. But, of course, the 50 percent of the population that pays no income tax will get it free. Guess who pays for that.
President Obama and the Democrats were in complete control of the government from 2008-2010. They wait until Republicans control the House and then blame them for the debacle.
Unions and too many government regulations are among reasons this country is in a mess. Unlike the writer, I don’t need unions and Democrats taking care of me.
