Business Briefs: Main Street celebrating 'Independents Week'

Main Street Newnan is joining the American Independent Business Alliance in celebrating Independents Week July 1 through 7.

“It’s a time to reflect on the importance of economic democracy and community self-determination by celebrating the nation’s locally owned, independent businesses and the stake each citizen has in shaping their home town’s future,” said Jennifer Rockne of the AMIBA.

“Main Street is joining other local alliances and partner organizations worldwideâ ¦ to celebrate our great independent businesses who exemplify the uniqueness of downtown Newnan,” said JoAnn Gentry, Main Street manager.

Main Street “invites the community to help celebrate by joining in and supporting local independent businesses during this week,” she said.

Ciao Bella, Express Medical hold ribbon cuttings

Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce ribbon cuttings were recently held for Ciao Bella Center for Medical Weight Loss on Bullsboro Drive and Express Medical Clinic on Lower Fayetteville Road.

Space Walk opens Coweta rental location

Space Walk, America’s leading provider of inflatable fun, has opened Space Walk of Coweta County.

Space Walk is the inventor of the inflatable bouncer and has been in the rental business for over 40 years. Each local representative has completed an intensive three-day training course at the corporate offices and is a Certified Inflatable Operator.

Damian Wilson is the Coweta Space Walk representative. He is proud to have been selected to be a part of the Space Walk family and share the company’s commitment to fun with our community.

Georgian Place now Emeritus

Georgian Place senior living community is now Emeritus at Newnan.

Georgian Place, which is managed by Emeritus Senior Living, chose to make the change to reflect the Emeritus corporate brand name.

For the sixth year in the past eight years, financial services firm Edward Jones ranks highest in investor satisfaction with full service brokerage firms, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Full Service Investor Satisfaction Study.

Cumulus Funding ‘invests in people’

Cumulus Funding, which provides capital to individuals in need of funds in exchange for a percentage of the individuals’ future earnings, is test marketing in the Newnan area.

“We believe this form of investing in people is completely new to the market, and provides a better alternative for many individuals, especially those with less-than-perfect-credit,” said Andrew Isler of Cumulus Funding.
