Mr. Charles Brannen Woodroof Jr.

Mr. Charles Brannen Woodroof Jr., 70, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away June 25, 2012. Born and reared in Newnan, Georgia, he was the son of the late Charles Brannen Woodroof and Minerva Cole Woodroof.

He attended the Darlington School in Rome and graduated from Newnan High School. After attending the University of Georgia and Mercer University, he was involved in sales, eventually brokering his own real estate firm in Newnan.

After moving to Florida in 1985, he continued his brokerage career in commercial real estate in several communities. Charles will be remembered for his delight in humor and love of all things indicative of fine taste and style.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Dashiell Woodroof of Sarasota; sons, Charles Woodroof III (Andrea) of Locust Grove, William Raleigh Woodroof (Beatriz) of Athens; grandchildren, Katherine Brannen Woodroof and William Robert Woodroof; sister, Minerva Woodroof Winslow, Newnan; brother, William Cole Woodroof (Dottie), Cordele; nieces and nephew. His most loyal companion in recent years was his dog, Daisy.

The service will take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, West, Bradenton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Episcopal Food Pantry, 4040 Manatee Drive West, Bradenton, FL 34205.
