Mr. Lowell T. “Pete” Busby, 79, of Gay, GA, passed away May 28, 2012.

He was born in Elbert County to the late O.B. and Verbie Smith Busby.

Pete served in the Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War.

When he separated from the military, he worked as an aircraft engine mechanic for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Busby, also of Gay; sister, Jan Busby Dale, and her husband Harold, of St. Simons Island; niece, Shannon Dale Zieg and her husband Marc, of Orange Park, FL; nephew, Buz Dale and his wife, Dorothy, of Athens; several great-nieces and a great-nephew.
