Mr. James H. Hartman Sr., 84, of Newnan, GA, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Hartman was born April 21, 1928, in Shawmutt, Ala., son of the late Andrew Nelson Hartman and the late Sadie Bell Lee Hartman. A former resident of Hogansville, he had lived in Coweta County for 25 years and retired from James River Corp.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Ellinwood Hartman of Newnan; daughters and sons-in-law, Brook and Kane Payton of Newnan, Betty Lou and Jim Jones of McDonough; sons, Lamar Hartman of Hogansville, Jimmy Hartman of McDonough; sisters, Mattie Lou Todd of Hogansville, Dorothy Cambrone of Cedartown; brothers, Nelson Hartman of Fortson, Ted Hartman of Columbus; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A gathering and memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hartman will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 2 at his home at 161 Mt. Carmel Road in Newnan.
