Mr. Gerold M. Worthy, age 71, of Newnan, died at Southwest Christian Care on May 17, 2012.

He was born on April 26, 1941, in Haralson County, Georgia, to the late Thomas Minco Worthy and Nellie Ellen Pope Worthy.

He served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Staff Sargeant.

He was in the security force at Wesley Woods of Newnan-Peachtree City.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Matychak Williams Worthy of Newnan; sons, Frankie Williams of Bremen and Robert Worthy of Carrollton; daughters, Susan Harden of McDonough, Anita Buffington of Douglasville, and Donna Adams of Magnolia, Texas; sisters, Minnie Trumbo of Missouri and Maggie Jenfreau of Louisiana; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
