Mrs. Dorothy Viola “Dot” Gardner, age 92, of Franklin, GA, died at Tanner Medical Center on May 7, 2012.

She was born in Fulton County on Dec. 9, 1919, to the late John K. Babb and Ida Archer Babb.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ray N. Gardner. She was a member of New LIfe Worship Center. Dot enjoyed playing the harmonica, doing word puzzles, and cooking. She loved her career in sales.

Surviving are her sons, Al Gardner (Gayle) of Sharpsburg and Steve Gardner (Lana) of Lithia Springs; daughter, Barbara Ennis (Jerry) of Franklin; and 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 11 at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Ennis and Rev. Joe Brice officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, 6-8 p.m.
