TOP STORY

With less than 20 seconds left in his first victory as head coach over county rival East Coweta, Newnan’s Mike McDonald gets a celebratory shower of water from a group of Cougar players including Aaron Head, left, Cameron Rosser (15) and Brock Dorman, as Newnan pulled out a 43-26 win over the Indians at Drake Stadium. Unbeaten Newnan, however, had to rally from a 19-14 deficit to open the fourth quarter, as the Cougars scored four times in the final 12 minutes to hold off a tenacious East Coweta team.
