It's shaping up to be an exciting campaign season in Coweta, with contested races in both the partisan primaries and the general election. Several non-partisan seats will also be decided in November, with qualifying for those coming up in June.
Contested local races include:
* Coweta County Board of Commissioners:
District One -- Incumbent Republican Paul Poole, Republican Brent Benson and Democrat Bill Wood
District Four -- Republicans Gary DeGeorge and Rodney Brooks
District Five -- Republican Rob Brass and Democrat Alphonso Smith
* Coweta Solicitor General -- Incumbent Republican Robert Stokely and Republican Randy Coggin
* State Senate District 28 -- Incumbent Mitch Seabaugh, R-Sharpsburg, and Betty Aaron, D-Palmetto
* State House District 71 -- Incumbent Billy Horne, R-Sharpsburg, and Jason Smith, D-Newnan
* U.S. House of Representatives District Three -- Incumbent Lynn Westmoreland, R-Grantville, and Stephen Camp, D-Newnan
* Coweta Coroner - Republicans Ray Yeager Jr. and Mike Hutson
* The following incumbents, all Republicans, are running unopposed:
