Two gunmen robbed the Nifty Foods store in Moreland Thursday night.
The men, both armed with handguns, entered the store located at 3226 South U.S. 27, about 10 p.m., said Major Jimmy Yarbrough with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.
They ordered the two men working there, Mohammad Kahn and Sakhawat Kahn, on the floor behind the cash register, the major said. The gunmen took about $1,200 and several packs of cigarettes.
The gunmen then ran out the door and behind the store. Canine search units were brought in, but the trail was lost on a roadway.
“They probably had a car parked back there,” Yarbrough said.
The men were identified as black, both about six feet tall and very slim. They were wearing dark pants and black hoodies that covered their faces.
Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 770-253-1502.
