Police on Lookout for Armed Robbery Suspects

by Wes Mayer

Newnan police and Coweta County deputies are on the lookout for two men and possibly a woman who robbed the Shell gas station’s convenience store on Bullsboro Drive Saturday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m., police were dispatched to the gas station in reference to an armed robbery in progress. According to public safety radio traffic, shots were also reported to be fired. It is uncertain if the suspects fired the shots or if witnesses did, but there were no reported injuries.

Initially, witnesses reported the suspects fled toward I-85 in a Nissan Murano with South Carolina plates, but officers later learned the suspects may have fled down Newnan Station Drive toward Shenandoah Boulevard. Around 40 minutes later, officers were notified by a witness in the Shenandoah Villas apartment who said the two possible suspects jumped out of the Murano and into a smaller white car. The Murano was then found around 1001 Villa Drive by authorities.

The two suspects were described as black males with short and regular builds, according to public safety radio traffic. One was older and wearing all white clothing with a red hat, and the other was in his 20s wearing a dark blue shirt and jeans. Witnesses told authorities there may have also been a woman driving the vehicle who did not enter the convenience store.
