Nevada driver arrested, clocked at over 140 mph on I-85

A Nevada man was arrested after being clocked going more than 140 mph on Interstate 85 last week.
Nathan Bennett, of Reno, was driving a 2013 Dodge Challenger southbound on I-85 when Corporal Bill Baker of the Grantville Police Department clocked him going 142 mph, said Police Chief Doug Jordan. The incident occurred Valentine's Day about 1:30 a.m.
As the Challenger sped by, Baker said the driver started to brake as soon as the officer "lit him up." However, it still took about a mile before the Challenger driver was able to stop.
Bennett was arrested and charged with speeding and reckless driving, Jordan said.
"My guess is that late, the driver saw the patrol car sitting and knew he was caught," the chief added.
