Man Flees from Newnan Officers After Short Car Chase

by Wes Mayer

Newnan Police are still looking for the driver of a vehicle who began a short car chase in the city Monday night and managed to escape on foot.

Around 11 p.m., Officer Christopher Robinson with the Newnan Police Department pulled behind a vehicle which rolled through a stop sign at the intersection of Spring and Perry streets. The vehicle then made a quick left from Perry onto Salbide Avenue, increased its speed, and a short chase ensued.

The driver later fled from the vehicle on foot, according to authorities, but the passengers were not so lucky.
