The first quarter of FY 2013 was an impressive one statistically for the Coweta County Public Library System, reports Director Jimmy Bass.
More than 65,000 visitors checked out 103,731 items at the four branches of the system — Central Library in eastern Coweta, Powell Library in Newnan, and the Senoia and Grantville branches.
Public computer usage at all libraries came in at 13,956 hours, he said. The month of October, in particular, was outstanding as the public used library computers for 5,673 hours.
Also, wireless hits for Coweta libraries totaled 29,506.
“Wireless statistics have been on the rise for the past year as more and more customers begin to recognize the library not only as a destination for books and programming but as a free, helpful place to utilize technology,” Bass said.
New online testing and career resources are now offered by Coweta County Public Library System via access to new websites.
