Heritage School art auction in Roscoe today

Collectors of works of local and regional artists have a treat in store for them tonight.

The Heritage School is sponsoring the Southern Palettes Art Auction at the Wilson Farm at 4328 Roscoe Road from 7-11 p.m.

Organizers hope to repeat the art auction, which is being held for the first time, on an annual basis.

Tickets are $35 and may be purchased at the door.

"Tonight promises to be a fun-filled, casual evening with opportunities to bid on artwork from some of the region's most talented artists," said Amy Riley, advancement director at Heritage.

"We have a full silent auction section featuring plein air, sculpture, bronze work, encaustic, ceramics, watercolors, oils, and photography," said Riley. There will be art by Millie Gosch, Chuck and Deborah Kidwell, Anne Berry, David Boyd Jr., Bonne Boyd Bedingfield, Bill Turner, Martin Pate, Billy Newman, Jenni Horne, Allen Gee, Robert Jarrell, Kyle James, Elsa Sibley, Donna Rosser, Sherry Cook, Dana Johnson, Janet McGregor Dunn, Jan Eubanks, Valerie Dumas and Greg Blair.

There will also be a cash and carry section featuring pieces that are excellent values and would make great, one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts. "The live auction starts at 10 p.m. and will feature work by Steve Penley," said Riley.

The auction venue is a beautiful, rural vista in the heart of Roscoe, right across from Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church, one mile north of the Roscoe General Store.

"We're set up in a barn. Dress warmly. We'll be in jeans and boots and jackets," added Riley. "We hope you'll join us."
