Domestic violence by the numbers

Across the state in 2012, 128 Georgians were killed due to domestic violence — with one of those being in Coweta County.
So far this year statewide, 34 people have lost their lives in domestic violence encounters. Overall, Georgia ranks 10th in the nation for men killing women in single-victim homicides, and the majority of those are domestic-violence related, according to a recently released study.
