Coweta County Restaurant Inspections

The Coweta Board of Environmental Health inspects all Coweta restaurants, schools and businesses that serve food several times each year.

• Arnco-Sargent Elementary School, 2449 Highway 16 West, was inspected March 27. Current score 100-A. Previous scores are 96-A on Nov. 14, 2012, and 100-A on April 10, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Good Job, Good Luck!

• Bruster’s Ice Cream/ Nathan’s, 132 Newnan Station Drive, was inspected March 19. Current score 92-A. Previous scores 91-A on Aug. 29, 2012, and 98-A on Jan. 19, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Mold on hose inside ice machine, buildup inside microwave, particles on freezer gaskets. Need thermometers inside coolers and freezers, some are missing. Cups and portion cups stored on floor, gloves stored on chemical shelf.

• Dairy Queen, 61 Jefferson St., Newnan, was inspected March 18. Current score: 99-A. Previous scores 95-A on Aug. 10, 2012, and 91-A on Dec. 7, 2011. Inspector’s comments: Cups used as scoops.

• Huddle House, 1430 Highway 29 S., was inspected March 22. Current score 88-B. Previous scores 92-A on Aug. 30, 2012 and 99-A on Jan. 28, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Two flats of eggs on counter not time stamped. Wiping cloths left on counters, not returned to sanitizer.

• Joe Friday’s Brick Oven Pizza, 3500 Highway 34 East, Sharpsburg, was inspected March 26. Current score 98-A. Previous scores N/A. Inspector’s comments: Lifttop cooler lid needs repair. Need handwash sign at handwash sink.

• KFC, 398 Bullsboro Dr., Newnan, was inspected March 18. Current score 98-A. Previous scores: 98-A on June 19, 2012, and remodel inspection Jan. 18, 2013. Inspector’s comments: Need handwash signs in restrooms and at back handwash sink. Paper towel dispenser needs to be reattached to wall.

• Longhorn Steakhouse, 1112 Bullsboro Dr., Newnan, was inspected March 19. Current score 92-A. Previous scores 99-A on Aug. 6, 2012, and 91-A on Jan. 24, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Dried food particles on dicer and wedge. Sirloin 49 degrees F. wrapped in plastic cooling inside walkin cooler - removed from plastic wrap for proper cooling; shrimp 51 degrees F. stored in cooler drawer - ice added for proper cooling. Split gasket on salad cooler, slow drain in front of ice machine, clogged drain in dish area.

• Los Gordos, 1485 Highway 34, Suite C2, Newnan, was inspected March 26. Current score 99-A. Previous scores 95-A on Aug. 3, 2012, and 95-A on Dec. 9, 2011. Inspector’s comments: Buildup on gaskets, tops of coolers, around handles, bottoms of coolers, under and behind equipment.

• NCG Cinemas, 35 Fischer Crossing Blvd., Sharpsburg, was inspected March 26. Current score 95-A. Previous scores 96-A on Sept. 27, 2012, 94-A on Jan. 31, 2012. Inspector’s comments: No paper towels at handwash sink in back - corrected. Boxes of cups stored on floor.

• Papa John’s Pizza, 90 Glenda Trace, Suite P, was inspected March 26. Current score 99-A. Previous scores 98-A on Aug. 29, 2012, and 95-A on Jan. 30, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Wet stacked containers.

• Sprayberry’s Barbecue, 1060 Highway 34 East, Newnan, was inspected March 19, 2013. Current score 99-A. Previous scores 99-A on Aug. 7, 2012, and 99-A on Dec. 13, 2011. Inspector’s comments: Mold on wall near dishwasher.

• Subway, 285 Temple Ave., Suite B, Newnan, was inspected March 18. Current score 93-A. Previous scores 91-A on Aug. 28, 2012, and 96-A on Jan. 3, 2012. Dried food particles in slicer. Employees wearing watch, bracelet, ring with stone.

• Town and Country Restaurant, 8 Franklin Rd., Newnan, was inspected March 15. Current score 98-A. Previous scores 93-A on Aug. 23, 2012, and 91-A on Nov. 16, 2011. Split gasket on cooler door. Jacket stored with single service items.
