Charges are pending in a single-vehicle accident Monday evening that occurred on Buddy West Road in north Coweta County.
The accident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. near Buddy West's intersection with Roscoe Road, according to Trooper Justin Pollett of the Georgia State Patrol.
Tabatha Hausenfluck, 34, was traveling westbound in her Acura Integra when an off-duty EMT driver traveling eastbound approached a curve and noticed the Acura in his lane, according to Pollett. Hausenfluck overcorrected to avoid a head-on collision and lost control of her car.
The car traveled sideways over a concrete driveway and into a telephone pole on the driver's side -- the force of which spun the car around, causing the right rear panel to collide with a pine tree.
Hausenfluck was transported by helicopter ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where she was last listed in stable condition with a head injury, according to Pollett.
The investigation revealed that the driver was not wearing her seat belt at the time and may have been under the influence of prescription drugs, according to the trooper. Charges are pending against Hausenfluck, including failure to maintain lane, no seat belt and driving under the influence of drugs.
