Community Action for Improvement Inc. is advising its clients that the U.S. Department of Agriculture food distribution scheduled for June 24-25 has been canceled.
"The Department of Human Services advised agencies that no food was in the warehouses for the June distribution throughout the state," said Jerome Anderson, executive director for CAFI's regional office in LaGrange. CAFI operates an office in Newnan.
"We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause our customers who have come to depend on this distribution for some relief," he said.
The commodity distribution has been rescheduled for August 25-27 and Sept. 15-17.
