Two men were arrested Friday after firearms and a variety of drugs were found in their hotel room.
According to Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Col. Jimmy Yarbrough, the two men had a warrant out for their arrests and were suspects of armed robbery in Forest Park.
The two men, David Lee Brown and Dennis Denny, were located by the Clayton County Fugitive Squad and the Coweta County Warrant Division to be staying at the HomeLodge hotel off Moreland Exit 41. A warrant was obtained to raid their room.
Inside the hotel room, the two men were apprehended, and after a slew of drugs and firearms were discovered in plain view, the Coweta Crime Suppression Unit was called, Yarbrough said. After searching the room, CSU investigators led by Jon Standford found 20 grams of methamphetamine, 20 pills of oxycontin, four grams of cocaine, multiple bags of marijuana, additional prescription medications that have not yet been identified, three handguns with the serial numbers semi-removed, scales, pipes, $619 cash and two counterfeit $10 bills. The men also had two other false ID’s with other people’s Social Security numbers in their possession.
The two men were charged with possession of meth, possession of cocaine, possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana with intent, possession of a deadly weapon by convicted felon, forgery and identity fraud.
They will also be charged for their armed robbery in Forest Park.
