Coweta County Restaurant Inspections

The Coweta Board of Environmental Health inspects all Coweta restaurants, schools and businesses that serve food several times each year.

• Arbor Springs School, 4840 Highway 29 North, Newnan, was inspected April 15. Current score 99-A, previous scores 100-A on Nov. 18, 2012, and 99-A on May 4, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Light bulbs blown in USDA storage room, under hood.

• Arby’s, 65 Bullsboro Dr., Newnan, was inspected April 17. Current score 91-A. Previous scores 95-A on Sept. 5, 2012, and 99-A on Jan. 18, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Walk-in cooler not holding food at 41 degrees or below.

• Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 342 Newnan Crossing Bypass, was inspected April 18. Current score 95-A. Previous scores 99-A on Oct. 3, 2012, and 99-A on March 28, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Dishwasher not reaching 180 degrees for proper sanitation. Single service spoons stored handle down.

• Comfort Inn, 590 Bullsboro Dr., Newnan, was inspected April 25. Current score 96-A. Previous scores 96-A on April 6, 2012, and 100-A on Aug. 16, 2011. Inspector’s comments: No paper towels at handwash sink.

• East Coweta High School, 400 Sharpsburg-McCollum Road, Sharpsburg, was inspected April 19. Current score 100-A. Previous scores 100-A on Dec. 11, 2012, and 95-A on May 4, 2012. Inspector’s comments: No violations.

• East Coweta Middle School, 6291 Highway 16 East, was inspected April 25. Current score 100-A. Previous scores 100-A on Dec. 14, 2012, and 97-A on May 7, 2012. Inspector’s comments: No violations.

• East Coweta Ninth Grade Academy, 400 Sharpsburg-McCollum Road, was inspected April 19. Current score 100-A. Previous scores 100-A on Dec. 8, 2012, and 99-A on May 4, 2012. Inspector’s comments: No violations.

• Eastside Elementary School, 1225 Eastside School Road, Senoia, was inspected April 25. Current score 99-A. Previous scores: 100-A on Nov. 1, 2012, and 99-A on May 5, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Gap between floor tile and walk-in cooler entrance, stained light shield.

• Elm Street Elementary School, 46 Elm Street, Newnan, was inspected April 24. Current score 99-A. Previous scores 99-A on Oct. 24, 2012, and 95-A on Aug. 16, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Condensation leak inside small cooler in mobile kitchen, and in pass-thru. Water leaking out of third compartment of mobile kitchen’s three compartment sink, need new stopper.

• Evans Middle School, 1 Evans Drive, Newnan, was inspected April 24. Current score 99-A. Previous scores 99-A on Nov. 28, 2012, and 99-A on April 16, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Ice on walk-in freezer floor.

• Great China, 1111 Lower Fayetteville Road, was inspected April 18. Current score 96-A. Previous scores, 91-A on Sept. 19, 2012, and 93-A on Feb. 8, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Wet wiping cloths left on counters, must return to sanitizer after every use. Some build-up under and between equipment, racks in walk-in.

• Hooters 1001 Bullsboro Dr., Newnan, was inspected April 24. Current score 96-A. Previous scores 95-A on Sept. 6, 2012, and 99-A on Jan. 3, 2012. Inspector’s comments: Some damaged ceiling tiles, improper slope to floor — water pooling in corner. Wiping cloth sanitizer just a little weak.

• Lee Middle School, 370 Willis Road, Sharpsburg, was inspected April 23. Current score 100-A. Previous scores 100-A on Nov. 30, 2012, and 99-A on May 3, 2012. Inspector’s comments: No violations.
