Monday Road Construction

Roscoe Road to close from Jackson Street to Bypass

by Staff Reports

Roscoe Road in Newnan will be closed to traffic from Jackson Street to the Highway 34 Bypass beginning Monday for continued road construction work, city officials said.

Immediate area residents will have access.

“Drivers should plan travel in this area accordingly,” said Newnan Public Works Director Michael Klahr.

Upgrade work is being done along the section of Roscoe Road/Georgia Highway 70 north of Jackson Street stretching toward the Newnan bypass at the same time as an improvement project at the intersection of Roscoe and Jackson continues.

Roscoe Road is being redirected at the intersection with Jackson Street.

The current sharp turn onto Roscoe Road for southbound traffic on Jackson is being closed and Roscoe Road will be rerouted to align with Sprayberry Road at a traffic signal.

Work moving utilities for the project has been ongoing for several months.
