Coweta 911 helps woman in Cancun

Coweta 911 Communications Officers Emir Flores, front, and Shelly Tenney were among those on duty on the morning of March 26, when Beth Voltz called to get help for her daughter stranded in Mexico.

When Beth Voltz got a call in the middle of the night from her daughter, who was lost in Cancun, Mexico with no cash, no idea where she was, no knowledge of Spanish and a dying cell phone, Voltz didn’t know what to do. 

So she called 911. 

The communications officers on duty at Coweta 911 weren’t sure what to do either. But they were determined to figure it out.
