Zachary Harrison, one of four Newnan High School seniors involved in a car accident on Corinth Road on May 22, died Friday, according to authorities.

“I am sad to report that Zack Harrison passed away this afternoon,” said Newnan High School principal Chase Puckett in an email sent to Newnan High School staff and students on Friday. “Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers."

Following the announcement of his death, an outpouring of support came through social media as hundreds expressed their sympathy and sent prayers for the Harrison family on Facebook.

“We are praying for the Harrison family. Your child is in peace and surrounded by love,” said one commenter. “To all the NHS students and staff, come together for his loved ones to help celebrate his life.”

“Praying for comfort and peace for his family and friends,” said another commenter. “Zach was an amazing guy and I’ll never forget him.”

William Holloway, Zachery Self and Dustin “Haggar” Brenon were also involved in the accident.

Holloway, 17, was driving a black 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse northbound on Corinth Road when he lost control, ran off the road and struck a tree, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Emergency responders arrived to find the Eclipse wrapped around a tree, and all four were entrapped in the vehicle.

Holloway and Harrison were transported by air ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center while Self and Brenon were both treated at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
