Mitchell McTier remains in critical but stable condition, according to family members.

Mitchell McTier, brother to Madeline McTier, was taken to an ICU Sunday afternoon following a skiing accident while in Colorado.

McTier suffered a two inch skull fracture and he remains in critical but stable condition. McTier was placed into a medically induced coma in order for doctors to observe him and also to calm him. McTier's fracture runs across his eye, up to his ear, and then to the top of his skull. The fracture is also depressed.

A neurosurgeon at the undisclosed hospital where McTier is being held has said that McTier is doing well for the severity of the fracture he sustained according to his mother, Jennifer McTier.

A CT scan is planned for Monday. If his vitals remain stable, he will undergo surgery either Monday evening or Tuesday to repair his skull, ear or possibly both. The current plan is to coordinate multiple surgeons for one comprehensive surgery. McTier is on a ventilator with probes to his brain measuring the pressures.

Madeline McTier, a junior at East Coweta High School, died in September after a battle with brain cancer.

More details to follow as the story develops.
