Coweta Foundation to launch first campaign

by Sarah Fay Campbell

The Coweta Community Foundation is gearing up to launch an inaugural fundraising campaign.

The CCF recently merged with the Coweta Together Foundation and sent a letter to businesses and organizations.

The merger "significantly broadened the scope of the Coweta Community Foundation to include local nonprofits and other eligible organizations to reflect a shared goal — improving lives of Coweta citizens," the letter states.

The foundation will launch its first county-wide fundraising campaign in the first quarter of 2014.

"Businesses and their employees are assured funds raised in Coweta will stay in the county, benefiting citizens," foundation officials state.

CCF is also "recruiting businesses and interested citizens to help with the new campaign."

Anyone interested in helping can contact President Amy Sweet at 678-877-4472.

The foundation is in the process of designing a new website, but currently the familiar site is still available at www.CowetaFoundation.org.

The organizations partnering with the Coweta Community Foundation include Breakaway Childcare Center, Bridging the Gap, Cancer Support Group of Coweta County, CORRAL — the Coweta Organization for Riding, Rehabilitation and Learning, Coweta CASA — Court Appointed Special Advocates, Coweta County Special Olympics, Housing Authority of Newnan/Family Self-Sufficiency Program, Meals on Wheels of Coweta, Family Patterns Matter, Inc., One Roof Ecumenical Alliance Outreach, Coweta Community Food Pantry, Prevent Child Abuse Coweta, Rutledge Center Inc., Shenandoah GYSTC, Stepping Stones, and The Community Welcome House.
