Land deal could give CTCA additional 74 acres in Newnan
Batson-Cook Realty LLC has brokered a 74.6-acre land deal in Newnan that could give Cancer Treatment Centers of America an additional 74.6 acres contiguous to its southeastern regional medical campus.
In the recently-announced transaction, which closed June 26, Batson-Cook Realty represented seller Newnan Crossing Partnership. Georgia Healthcare Properties LLC was the buyer, the same entity which purchased the initial land on which Cancer Treatment Centers of America built its Southeastern Regional Medical Center near Newnan Crossing Bypass on Parkway North.
Terms of the deal were not being disclosed.
Batson-Cook Realty President Andy Ulsh and Vice President Jeremy Hammerton represented the seller in negotiations. The firm also brokered the sale by Newnan Crossing Partners of 2.5 acres nearby for a Marriott suites hotel in a deal that closed late last year. That site is just south of the Ashley Park lifestyle center on Newnan Crossing Bypass.
Newnan Crossing Partners originally owned approximately 1,000 acres in Newnan just off of Interstate 85. It has now sold a majority of the holdings, which have been the site of much of the commercial activity in Newnan over the last 20 years, according to Batson-Cook officials. This 74.6-acre tract represents one of the last they own.
“We have been honored to be working with Newnan Crossing Partners for many years. We knew the property and the players well,” said Ulsh. “Cancer Treatment Centers of America has driven a tremendous amount of growth in Newnan.”
