Following a standoff Monday, Peachtree City Police arrested a suspect for an earlier aggravated assault.
Around 3:30 p.m., officers responded to 110 and 117 Grenoble Road, Peachtree City, hoping to locate the suspect, Lance Brooks, 26, Peachtree City, who was wanted for aggravated assault (firearm), and simple battery, said Public Information Officer Lt. Mark Brown.
Brooks was wanted in regards to an incident Feb.16 where it was alleged he put a firearm to the chest of another person during an argument.
Officers were able to track Brooks to 117 Grenoble where they determined he was inside the residence and refusing to exit, Brown said. Officers determined that there was a possibility that there was another person in the residence.
To mitigate the situation, the department’s Special Response Team was activated, Brown said. After several hours, the team’s crisis negotiators were able to talk Brooks into surrendering. The other person in the residence was found to be unharmed.
Brooks was placed under arrest for the aggravated assault and simple battery warrants.

While officers were attempting to gather information on Brooks during the investigation, Holly Lloyd, 31, of 117 Grenoble Road, Peachtree City, was charged with obstruction and transported to the Fayette County Jail to post bond.
