Business Briefs: CTCA accredited by Joint Commission
From Staff Reports
Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Newnan has been accredited by the Joint Commission, an independent, nonprofit organization that accredits and certifies more than 19,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States.
The Joint Commission, which focuses on quality patient care for both inpatients and outpatients, is the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. The accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting comprehensive performance standards. It also addresses an organization’s staff competency, physician credentialing process and the licensure and certification requirements.
Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Southeastern opened in August 2012 off Newnan Crossing Bypass in Newnan. The hospital specializes in treatment of complex and advanced stage cancers. The 226,000-square-foot hospital is one of five CTCA hospitals nationwide, offering patients and their families a unique “Patient Empowered Care” model.
