Monica inspires students during Black History Month program at Smokey Road

Black History Month got off to a rousing start in Coweta County Friday when award-winning rhythm-and-blues singer Monica shared words of wisdom at Smokey Road Middle School.
Faculty members planned the school’s annual Black History Month program and invited the entertainer. Dr. Laurie Barron, SRMS principal, said she had no idea Monica was going to visit the school until the singing star arrived.
