EMC Natural Gas Inc., the natural gas affiliate of Coweta-Fayette Electric Membership Corporation, has changed its business name from Coweta-Fayette EMC to True Natural Gas.
“In just 10 short years, Coweta-Fayette EMC Natural Gas has become a leading residential and commercial natural gas provider,” said Dan Hart, president and CEO of True Natural Gas. “As we have expanded, potential customers outside Coweta and Fayette have told us that our name led to confusion about whether they could even receive service from us,” Hart said.
“We have selected True Natural Gas as a name that addresses our statewide presence while better describing our commitment to customer satisfaction with clear and competitive pricing plans.”
The natural gas company was originally created to meet the natural gas needs of the EMC’s electric customers, and has achieved that goal by serving more natural gas customers in the area than any other marketer. However, as more customers across the state discover the convenience of switching and saving, the company chose a new name that is relevant to all its customers, throughout Georgia, according to Hart.
True Natural Gas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Coweta-Fayette EMC and is governed by a board of directors that includes some members from the EMC board and some who are not affiliated with the electrical board. The combination of inside and outside directors is designed to provide both objectivity and insight for the business, and to be in compliance with Georgia law.

True Natural gas is a natural gas marketer certified by the Georgia Public Service Commission that offers customers easy-to-understand bills, simple pricing structures, and local customer service. Customers can choose monthly variable-rate pricing or fixed pricing.

“As a leader in reliable natural gas delivery, our personalized customer service and low natural gas pricing will continue to be the same,” said Hart. “We are proud of our Southside roots and our record of success in Coweta and Fayette. We look forward to continuing that same success reaching new customers across the state.”
