Coweta Schools to explore virtual learning

Coweta County high-schoolers may have the option of completing some coursework online as early as next year.
A “guidance document” is expected to be handed down next month by the State Department of Education to clarify the requirements of Senate Bill 289 – the Digital Learning Act, signed by Governor Nathan Deal last April. Legislation aside, Superintendent Steve Barker said the sharp shift toward online college classes and online career training means it’s time for Coweta schools to move toward virtual learning as well.
