Fourth of July parade, fireworks in Newnan

Main Street Newnan hosts the 2012 Fourth of July parade on the theme “Hats Off to America.” Grand marshals will be four World War II veterans: Roy Pitts, Ed Bean, Aubrey Burnette and Eugene Cook.
The parade steps off at 6 p.m. from the area of Veterans Memorial Plaza at Temple and Jackson streets. It will continues down Jackson, through the Court Square and out LaGrange Street to Newnan High School.
Newnan Rotary Club picks up the festivities from there with family fun until dark, and the big community fireworks show at Drake Stadium.
